Dangers abound when leaving children unattended in vehicles, they can quickly suffer heatstroke and death, they can also be abducted or accidentally engage an idling engine.

Here are a few auto safety tips to help safeguard children in and around motor vehicles.

• Don’t leave children alone in a vehicle not even for a minute.
• Keep vehicles locked even at home. Keep keys out of the reach of kids.
• Teach kids never to play in or around a vehicle.
• After your car is parked make sure that all child passengers exit the vehicle.
• If you a bystander and you see a child locked or trapped in a car call 911.
• When a child is missing please check a vehicle or car trunks right away.
